All assembly work undertaken is carried out as outlined by the: Pressure Equipment Directive (PED)
This directive came into effect on May 29th 2002. It concerns assembly work and not loose hose. These notes are to be used in conjunction with the accompanying graphs, which are taken from charts included in the PED.
Liquids and gases are split into two groups;
Group 1. Explosive, Extremely Flammable, Highly Flammable, Flammable - where the maximum allowable temperature is above flashpoint, Very Toxic, Toxic, Oxidising.
Group 2. All other fluids including steam.
Assemblies supplied that are covered by the requirements of SEP must:
Be safe.
Bear specified markings permitting the identification of the manufacturer or their authorised representative within the EU, but not CE markings.
Be designed and manufactured according to sound engineering practice.
Be accompanied by adequate instructions for use.
